The U.S. Department of the Interior wants to roll back our Freedom of Information regulations. In a proposal published over the holidays and during the federal government shutdown, a former Koch brothers advisor in the Interior Department has taken aim at our right to know.
Make no mistake, this is a war on transparency. The Interior Department views the Freedom of Information Act as a “burden” to the fossil fuel industry. In response, they’re gutting rules to make it harder for Americans to obtain information and to know what their government is up to.
WildEarth Guardians is on the frontline of defending transparency in the Interior Department. Stand with us and sign our petition as we fight back for our rights, our democracy, and our public lands.
