Safeguarding the Wild in the American West

Defend Greater Chaco, Ensure Justice

The Greater Chaco region of northwestern New Mexico is the cultural heart of the American Southwest. Chaco Canyon, a World Heritage Site, makes up its core. Historically the center of the Ancestral Puebloan civilization, today the Navajo call the region home and modern-day Pueblo, Hopi, and other Tribes consider Greater Chaco sacred. Sadly, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has let the oil and gas industry run roughshod over this irreplaceable landscape. In 2018, the agency is planning on auctioning off more than 4,000 more acres for fracking. Sign the petition to defend Chaco, protect the sacred, and secure justice for this irreplaceable landscape.
