Shut down Suncor oil refinery injustice

In a big win, a court has held Colorado Governor Jared Polis and his administration have illegally delayed action on the Suncor oil refinery’s air pollution permits.

The refinery, north of Denver, is Colorado’s number one environmental injustice. For years, Suncor has violated clean air laws, releasing toxic gases like benzene and hydrogen cyanide.

While we secured justice in the courtroom, we need your help to ensure justice for clean air, climate, and communities.

With a judge holding that you broke the law by illegally delaying action on the Suncor oil refinery's air pollution permits, it's time for action.

I call on you to confront the injustice that is Suncor's Commerce City oil refinery and to deny the company's permits to keep operating.

The Suncor oil refinery is the poster child for climate and environmental justice in Colorado. Its toxic air pollution, including hydrogen cyanide, benzene, and other gases, disproportionately impacts people of color and low-income families, all while fueling the climate crisis.
