Canada lynx are iconic wild cats of high-elevation, boreal, subalpine, and hardwood forests in North America. The Canada lynx has been listed as “threatened” in the lower 48 states under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) since 2000.
Unfortunately, despite lynx numbers declining and their habitat facing increasing threats from climate change and human development, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is preparing to follow through on an unfounded Trump-era declaration that the species should be delisted. The lynx needs recovery actions, not delisting. Last year, Guardians and our allies sued the agency over its failure to protect the critical habitat this wild cat needs to survive.
Please raise your voice for Canada lynx today and urge the Fish and Wildlife Service to take action to protect and restore the lynx and its habitat before it is too late.
